Food is made up of Protein, Fats and Carbohydrates. They are called macronutrients.Proteins are the part that people can be allergic to (e.g. famous nasty proteins: Peanuts, Shellfish, Eggs). There are two types of protein in milk: WHEY and CASEIN. CASEIN is made up of 3 different fractions: Alpha, Beta and Kappa.

Alpha-casein has 2 sub-fractions called S1 and S2. Alpha S1 has been linked to allergic sensitization in kids. (eczema etc). Sheep (& goat) have much lower levels of Alpha S1 than cow milk.

The Alpha S1 in sheep milk also has a different structure to those in cow’s milk. Substituting sheep milk for cow’s milk may show improvement in individuals allergic to cow’s milk.
Always consult a doctor to determine if you have cow milk intolerances or cow milk allergies.
